Matress Cleaning San Francisco

You spend a third of your life on it, and it is the one thing in the house that never gets washed. We clean mattresses in your home across San Francisco and the Bay Area, with plant-based products safe around kids and pets.

What Builds Up in a Mattress

Sheets get washed every week. The mattress underneath them does not.

You lose sweat and skin cells every night, and both work down into the layers below. That's the yellowing you see when you strip the bed, and it's what feeds dust mites. Add spills and pet accidents, and most mattresses carry years of it.

None of that means the mattress is finished. Most of it comes out.

If You Are Cleaning for Allergies, Read This First

Dust mites are one of the most common indoor allergy triggers, and mattresses are where people worry about them most.

Cleaning removes surface allergens and the skin cells mites feed on. What it doesn't do is clear mites out of the inside of a mattress, because they live deep in the fill. Any company telling you one clean eliminates dust mites is overselling it.

What allergy specialists recommend is a zippered allergen-proof encasement plus washing bedding weekly at 130°F. Do those two things and cleaning becomes a useful addition rather than the whole plan.

Why homeowners choose mother nature's cleaning

Moisture Control

A mattress is thick and it does not dry like a cushion. Using as little moisture as the job allows, and extracting what we put in, is most of the work.

Safe Around Kids and Pets

We are a California Certified Green Business and use plant-based, low-VOC products. Nothing lingering in the room you sleep in.

We Clean in Your Home

The mattress stays where it is. No pickup, no drop-off, and nothing to carry down a flight of stairs.

Honest Assessment

If a stain has been there for years or has gone through to the core, we say so before you book rather than after.

What Cleaning Removes, and What It Doesn't

We would rather tell you before we arrive than after we have charged you.

Cleaning won't fix
Cleaning usually handles

Bed bugs, which are a pest control job

Sweat and body oil buildup

Urine that has soaked through to the core

Yellowing and general discoloration on the cover

Mold inside the mattress

Spills, food and drink marks

Sagging, broken springs or a collapsed foam layer

Surface dust, dander and allergens

Old stains that have already set and oxidized

Odors from sweat and light pet accidents

Tell us what you are seeing when you call, or email a photo to info@mothernaturescleaning.com, and we will tell you which side of that list your mattress falls on.

What we clean

Rug Cleaning Services
Mattresses

All standard sizes from twin to California king, plus crib mattresses, guest beds and bunk mattresses. We clean the top surface and sides. The underside and box spring can be added on for allergy problems or accidents.

Sofa Beds and Futons

Pull-out mattresses go a long time between uses and rarely get cleaned at all, so they usually need more work than people expect. Book a week ahead of guests, not the day before.

Hotels & Short-Lets

We clean mattresses between guests for hotels, Airbnb and short-let operators, working around your turnover window. If an accident is reported on checkout day, call early. Ongoing programs available for property managers.

Mattress type changes the approach. Innerspring and hybrid mattresses handle moisture better than foam. Memory foam and latex hold water in the layers and dry slowly, so they need a low-moisture method. We check what you have before we start.

How Often Should a Mattress Be Cleaned?

Every 12 to 24 months covers most households. Sooner if you have pets on the bed, allergies, or someone who sweats heavily.

The better signal is what you see when you strip the bed. Yellowing across the middle of the mattress, a musty smell when you pull the sheets back, or a stain you have been covering with a protector are all worth acting on. If your mattress has never been professionally cleaned, that is normal, and it is rarely too late.

Pet and Child Accidents

Urine is the job people call about most, and it is the one where honesty matters.

A fresh accident caught on the surface usually comes out. Urine that has soaked down into the fill is a different matter, because the odor source is inside the mattress where a surface clean cannot reach it. We can treat what is reachable and tell you plainly whether the smell is likely to return.

Our Process

Inspect and test

We check the mattress type, look at the stains and odors you have flagged, and test our cleaner on a hidden area before touching anything visible.

Vacuum

A HEPA-filtered vacuum lifts surface dust, dander and skin cells before any moisture goes near the mattress.

Pre-treat

Stains and odor sources are treated first and given time to break down.

Clean and extract

We use as little moisture as the mattress type allows and extract thoroughly, because what stays in the mattress is what causes problems later.

Dry

Air movers speed up drying and we tell you when the bed is ready to make up again.
