HEPA vacuum first.
Everything gets vacuumed with a HEPA-filtered machine before any moisture goes down. Dry removal takes out the most, and wetting dust in makes it harder to get out.
Soft furnishings hold onto dander, pollen and dust. We take that out and tell you honestly which part of your allergy problem cleaning can help with and which part it can't.

Allergens don't stay in the air. They settle, and soft surfaces hold them. Carpet, a sofa, a mattress and a rug all act as a reservoir, collecting pet dander, pollen tracked in from outside, and the general dust that builds in any home.
Walking across a room puts some of that back into the air. So does sitting down on a cushion, or turning over in bed. That's really what indoor air quality comes down to in a carpeted home. Less about the air itself, more about what the room keeps handing back to it.
Cleaning works on the reservoir. We take out what's collected in the fibers so there's less of it in the room to begin with. That's a real and measurable thing to do, and it's what a cleaning company can actually offer.
What cleaning doesn't do is make a house allergen-free, and nobody who tells you otherwise is being straight with you. Allergens come back in on shoes, on pets and through open windows. The question worth asking isn't whether you can get rid of them. It's how much is sitting in your furnishings right now, and how often you take it back out.
Most of the people who call us are managing this for someone else in the house. A child with asthma, a partner who wakes up congested, a parent visiting who reacts to the cat. That's the job as we see it: take out what we can reach, and be clear about the rest.
HEPA vacuuming before any water goes down. Dry removal takes out more than people expect.
We put down as little water as the job takes and extract hard, because in a foggy city what gets left behind is the problem.
We'll tell you what cleaning reaches and what it doesn't, before you book.
We're a California Certified Green Business, and we'll go through exactly what we're using if anyone's sensitive.

Make a home allergen-free, because allergens come back in daily

Pet dander and hair worked down into carpet, sofas and mattresses

Replace the measures that work on dust mites, which are covered below

Pollen tracked in on shoes and clothing through spring and summer

Treat or cure an allergy, or reduce anyone's symptoms as a guarantee

Household dust and skin cells that settle into fibers

Fix mold that's growing because water is getting in somewhere

Mold spores sitting on a surface after a damp spell

Reach your HVAC ducts, which we don't clean and which need a specialist

Soil, grit and general buildup in high-traffic carpet

Work on its own, if the house keeps bringing allergens back in

Odors sitting in fabric from pets, smoke or damp
This is the part most pages in our industry get wrong, so it's worth being direct.
Dust mites live deep in the fill of mattresses, sofas and carpet. A clean takes out surface debris. It doesn't remove a mite population living below where any cleaning reaches, and we won't pretend otherwise. The guidance allergists actually follow is a practice parameter published for physicians, and it's specific about what helps.
The same guidance is clear that no single measure does the job on its own, and that a combination is what works. Our cleaning handles the reservoir in your furnishings. The measures above handle the rest.

We don't clean HVAC ductwork. If that's where you think the problem is, you want a duct specialist rather than us.
Clear the floor and strip the beds before we arrive. Washing the bedding the same day we clean the mattress gets you more out of the visit.

Everything gets vacuumed with a HEPA-filtered machine before any moisture goes down. Dry removal takes out the most, and wetting dust in makes it harder to get out.
We look at the fibers, find out what we're dealing with, and test in a hidden spot before committing to a method.
A pre-spray goes down and gets time to release what's bound into the fibers. The dwell time does a lot of the work.
We clean and pull back in the same pass, because what stays in the fiber is what ends up back in the room.
The less moisture we leave behind, the faster it goes. Drying itself comes down to airflow in your home, so we'll tell you what to open and roughly how long to give it. Where a treatment has needed extra water in one area, we'll put a fan on it.
Pricing depends on how many rooms and pieces you want done and what condition they're in. Carpet, upholstery and mattresses are often booked together, which costs less than doing them separately. We give you a firm number before we start, and there's a minimum charge for a visit, so it's worth telling us everything you want looking at in one go.
If you want a fan left behind to speed up drying, we can arrange that as an add-on and we'll quote it with the job.

We cover San Francisco and the wider Bay Area. If you're not sure whether you're in range, call and ask.
It can reduce how much dander, pollen and dust is sitting in your carpet, sofa and mattress, which is a real part of the picture. Whether that changes how you feel depends on what you react to and what else is in the house. We're not going to promise you'll feel better, because that isn't something a cleaning company can know.
No. Mites live in the fill, below where cleaning reaches. What works on mites is allergen-proof encasements, weekly bedding washing, indoor humidity between 35% and 50%, and regular HEPA vacuuming. Our cleaning handles the debris in your furnishings. Those four things handle the mites, and we'd rather tell you that than sell you something that doesn't.
A single room is usually around half an hour. A mattress on its own takes twenty to thirty minutes. A whole house depends on how many rooms there are, plus stairs and hallways, so we give you a time estimate with the quote and you can plan the day around it.
For most homes every six months to a year is the right rhythm, at the shorter end if you have pets or small children. How fast the reservoir refills depends on animals, open windows and how much the room gets used. It isn't a substitute for the four measures above.
We're a California Certified Green Business. If anyone in the house is sensitive, tell us when you book and we'll go through exactly what we're putting on your furnishings before we start, so you can make the call yourself.
You don't need to leave. Carpet is usually back in normal use the same day, and how fast it dries comes down to airflow more than anything else, so open windows and run your HVAC fan if you have one. Mattresses need to be properly dry before you make the bed, so we'd book a mattress for the morning rather than the evening.
No. Allergens in HVAC ductwork are a real thing and they're outside what carpet and upholstery cleaning reaches, so that needs a duct specialist. We do clean dryer vents, but that's a different service and a different problem.
